On the dock in the bay

Photo credit: Scott Cain "On the dock in the bay"
Written for the stranger who visits only in my dreams

If you were next to me

How lonely would it be

Above the sea

Waiting for the day

On the bay

When color waves away the gray

In the moments after night

A dawn so early and bright

With only us in sight

Out on the quay

With words to say

Between us they stay

Inside a tracery

Of our mystery

Each in un-lived fantasy

  1. It's better to long than linger unknowing.
